Spot UV highlights selected artwork areas; lamination protects the full printed surface.
Use the points below as a sourcing checklist before requesting samples or confirming mass production.
Different jobs on the printed surface
Spot UV is a selective gloss coating used to highlight logos, patterns or text. Lamination covers the full sheet with a protective film in matte, gloss or soft-touch finishes.
They can be used together: lamination creates the base surface and spot UV adds controlled contrast on selected areas.

Artwork and production compatibility
Spot UV requires a separate mask file and enough tolerance around small text, cuts and creases. Lamination choice affects color appearance, glue areas and the way later foil or UV processes bond.
Very fine UV details, heavy ink coverage and textured substrates should be checked with the printer before final files are released.

What to inspect on samples
View samples under direct and angled light to judge gloss contrast, haze and surface consistency. Rub and fold the sample where normal handling will occur.
Approval should cover registration, scratches, bubbles, silvering, edge lifting, fold cracking and adhesion between the selected coating layers.

Sample and approval checkpoints
Use a structural sample to verify size and fit, then a printed sample when color, material and finishing need approval. Record the accepted specification so production is checked against the same reference.
- Confirm dimensions and product fit
- Approve material, print color and finishing
- Confirm packing method and master-carton details
- Keep one approved reference for production QC
Information to send for quotation
A useful inquiry gives the supplier enough information to recommend a realistic structure and production route.
- Product dimensions, weight and reference photos
- Target quantity and expected reorder plan
- Artwork status, colors and required finishes
- Delivery country, target date and confirmed compliance notes
Send your product details and target market so Jiahui Printing can review structure, material, finishing and export packing together.
